Yoke

Not many chances do I get to enjoy a good night's breeze.. especially from the balcony of a 13th floor condo.. To me I've always find the night breeze to have some kind of magical refreshing properties (just like the early morning breeze). *Sighs*. I do wish I could just stop time to allow myself to appreciate these 'special moments' even more.

I've been meditating on the book of Matthew recently. Just read Chapter 11 today, and what captured my attention was on verses 28-30. A pretty common verse that many would know, yet many also do not know the meaning of what the 'yoke' is mentioned there (no surprise to me some told me they thought it was referring to an egg 'yoke').

Taken from the Message Bible -

"Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you'll recover your life. I'll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won't lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you'll learn to live freely and lightly."

Pretty encouraging don't you think?

Ask yourself these questions mentioned in the verse.

1. Are you tired?
2. Are you worn out?
3. Are you burned out?

In a different context, God is basically saying this to us -

"My dear, where have you been all these while? I've been asking around for you! You've been so busy lately, that you didn't even answer my calls, nor reply my emails and sms-es. I seriously think it's time for you to retreat from the busyness of the world. Come, spend more time with me instead. It's going to be fun, trust me! "

"Hey, I noticed you aren't as energetic and joyful as you've used to be. Hmm? You're telling me that your back, your neck, your shoulders and most of your limbs are in pain at the moment? Seriously, what have you been doing? Let me massage your back now. And gosh! You look so tired as well! Look at your eyes and face. You look so down, weary, moody, lethargic, and should I say, lifeless as well? :P No, I was just kidding. Don't get angry now. Ok, why not you just lie down and rest on the bed now. I assure you that the moment you wake up, you will definitely feel brand new."

Goodness me! Why are you carrying so many heavy bags? Pass them to ME! I will help carry all of them together with you. *winks* ;-) Oh, if you're more than tired, I'll carry ALL of them for you. *laughs* We are both in these together, remember? :-) "

So to all of my friends out there, those I know are still struggling with bitterness, disappointments, hurts and pain - even excess baggage of the bad events that happened back from the year 2009.. well, not just last year, but probably the beginning of this year itself (I experienced it on the FIRST day of the year itself, NOT GOOD!) this is a post for you.

Let go and let God ;)

Word of Wisdom

I've always wondered how at times, I speak certain words that encourages people..and today I really encountered a few many times that I gave such words to people.

i.e to Melvyn Cheng -
"I wanna create and make my own destiny in a different way. Being inspired is one, creating an inspiration is another thing. So with the inspiration I receive, I create my own inspiration tat will inspire others."

So to my curiosity, I went and check various sources of what the Spiritual Gift - Word of Wisdom meant.

The gift of the word of wisdom is the application of knowledge that God gives you ( I Corinthians 2:6-7). This type of wisdom is a gift which cannot be gained through study or experience and should by no means try to replace them. The gift of the word of wisdom is seeing life from God's perspective. As a Christian exercises this gift, he begins to develop a fear of the Lord. This is the "beginning of wisdom" according to Proverbs 1:7.

The gift of the word of wisdom is also the revealing of prophetic future; it is speaking hidden truths of what is not known. It is a supernatural perspective to ascertain the divine means for accomplishing God's will in a given situation, and is a divinely given power to appropriate spiritual intuition in problem solving.

Furthermore, this gift involves having a sense of divine direction, being led by the Holy Spirit to act appropriately in a given set of circumstances, and rightly applying knowlege.

The gift of wisdom is the wisdom of God. It is the supernatural impartation of facts; it is not natural. You can't earn it. It is received from God through prayer (Ephesians 1:17).

The gift of the word of wisdom works interactively with the other two revelation gifts: knowledge and discernment.

.. I wanna develop this gift even more!! :)

At the meantime, I'll go and study what Word of Knowledge really means ;) Part Two coming up!
